The Berry Box began with a simple idea: to create a welcoming spot where locals and visitors could enjoy fresh, delicious real fruit ice cream made from the best produce our region has to offer. What started as a small family project has grown into a much-loved destination, especially during the summer months.

With an excellent location right next to Lake Karapiro, we’re a favourite stop for cyclists enjoying a scenic ride, families spending the day by the water, and rowers finishing up on the lake. Whether you’re cooling off after a swim or simply passing by, The Berry Box is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a treat.

KฤRAPIRO Berry Box was born in 2018 from a memory that’s always stayed with me. When I was young, money was tight, but once a week my mum would treat me to an ice cream. It was our tradition, simple, joyful, and something I never forgot.

When the Te Awa cycleway opened right past my gate and I saw families biking by, I realised something was missing: a place to stop, rest, and share a treat just like the ones I grew up with.
So I built it. A small, friendly ice cream shop designed for the community.

Today, KฤRAPIRO Berry Box is a spot where families ride out together, friends catch up in the sunshine, and locals enjoy real fruit ice cream made from the freshest berries we can find. It’s a shop built on simple joys, shared moments, and the belief that a little treat can make a big memory.
